Role

Design Lead

The challenge

I collaborated with the founders from the very beginning of their small business journey, meaning the brand was built entirely from scratch.

The challenge was to create a visual identity that balanced two audiences simultaneously: something playful and engaging for children, while still feeling trustworthy and considered for parents and schools.

My Role

I worked closely with the business owners throughout the strategy, creative briefing and design process, developing and refining multiple visual identity directions throughout the process.

The final outcome included a complete brand system and guidelines, spanning logo design, colour palette, typography, graphic elements and rollout applications. I also collaborated with a photographer to art direct and develop the product photography style.

The Approach

The identity uses vibrant primary colours and wave-inspired graphic elements, subtly referencing Torquay’s coastal environment and creating a playful, energetic visual language.

A deliberately minimal and flexible system allowed the client to confidently self-manage day-to-day content creation across menus, signage, social media and promotional material, while maintaining consistency across touchpoints.

The brand was rolled out across packaging, lunch bags, food truck graphics, signage and digital assets.

Outcome & Reflection

Nibblet launched successfully and quickly established a strong presence within partnering schools and the local community. The playful visual language and bold colour palette resonated strongly with children, while still feeling polished and approachable for parents.

The project was a rewarding example of how a simple but strategically considered brand system can create both immediate recognition and long-term flexibility as a business continues to grow.
